It is an exciting time of year for Alloway’s newest Tigers! Kindergarten registration will take place on May 23, 2018. Please contact Mrs. Bowling to schedule an appointment for the 8:30 am or 1:15 pm registration session. If you can not attend on May 23, you may contact Mrs. Bowling for registration forms and information.
During your registration appointment, you will meet with the school nurse, school counselor, Language Arts Basic Skills teacher, registration coordinator, and the Assistant Principal. Each individual with share information about what your child can expect as part of their learning experience at Alloway Township School. You will also schedule a follow-up appointment for your child to complete the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment in August. This assessment will inform teachers of your child’s specific needs and abilities so they can plan to target your child’s instructional level starting on the very first day of school.
During this appointment, prospective Kindergartners are invited to attend a special story time activity in one of the Kindergarten classrooms as an introduction to the many fun and enriching experiences they will participate in when they start school in September. Students will be escorted to the kindergarten classrooms by the teachers while parents and guardians complete paperwork and meet with school personnel. At the end of the hour, children will return to the registration site where you will be waiting to greet them.
We also have a special group of middle school students interested in becoming teachers who will be present to assist teachers in the classroom during storytime. In the event that leaving you is just too much to ask, Alloway’s future educators can also remain in the registration room to monitor students and play games with incoming our Kindergarteners.
We look forward to meeting you and your children in May.
