News from the Board
Effective with the January 4, 2022 Reorganization of the Board meeting, all Board of Education meetings will be held in-person only in the Gymnasium at Alloway Township School. A virtual option will no longer be available. Please be reminded that masks are required and social distancing recommendations will be followed at all Board meetings. Thank you!
Playground Maintenance
The playground is OPEN!! Thanks to CSA Pam Southard, BA Melanie Allen and Buildings & Grounds Supervisor Kevin Harris for working together so quickly to cut through all the red tape that would have delayed the opening. The kids are delighted.

Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) Information
Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) funds are coming for the 2020-2021 school year. What is P-EBT? P-EBT is a program to help you purchase food for your school-age child(ren) who were eligible for free or reduced price school meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), but whose schools closed or operated with reduced attendance or hours for five consecutive days due to COVID-19. See the attached flyer for more information.

Eligible students in fully remote learning situations will receive $122.76 a month. Students in hybrid learning situations will receive $61.38 a month.

P-EBT for eligible families will be added to your Families First Card or mailed to you starting at the end of July. Need more information? Visit the P-EBT section of www.NJSNAP.gov.

NJSBA - Examining the Possibility of a Countywide School System
The Salem Board of Chosen County Commissioners has hired a firm to examine the feasibility of a countywide school district, or some other system to deliver education. In this wide-ranging Education Matters video interview with the NJSBA’s Ray Pinney, Vito Gagliardi Jr. and Kerri Wright – both principals with the law firm of Porzio, Bromberg, and Newman PC — discuss the process and issues that they will be examining as the firm moves forward with the study.
